Mike Judd
Mike first worked at Beaver Camp in 1989 as a maintenance assistant and started in 1995 as Program Director, just a few days after graduating from college. He is married to Jeanna and the father of two wonderful kids, Caleb and Mackenzie. Mike grew up in a home where a personal relationship with Christ was emphasized, and his faith really began to become his own in late middle school and high school. His first memories of Camp were as a young child coming to a family weekend and then as a timid 9 year old coming to spend the week at resident camp. Observing staff at Beaver Camp living out their faith played a big role in his own faith. When not at Beaver Camp and Maple Ridge Center he loves to work on their house (they have renovated two older homes), spending time with his family, and reading (especially any book written by Jeff Shaara).
Joshua Bogoniewski
Joshua may be new at Beaver Camp, but he has a long history of Camp Ministry. Joshua grew up spending every summer at Delta Lake, a camp in Rome, NY. During college, Joshua worked at various camps spread across the Eastern US. Joshua also studied Outdoor Leadership at Toccoa Falls College, and he loves spending time in the outdoors. He especially loves rock climbing and hiking with his wife and daughter. Joshua’s other interests include reading, stage acting, playing board games, and working on his various writing projects.
Patty Southcott
Patty is the cheerful person who handles the paperwork and planning details for every summer camper, guest group, and field trip. With her past experience as a summer staff, volunteer and a parent, she knows exactly how to help your adventure at Beaver Camp be the best one yet. Patty, her husband Mark and her family reside in Lowville, NY.
Linda Zehr
Linda has loved Beaver Camp since her days as a camper. Before coming on year-round staff as our Bookkeeper, she served on the summer staff team as a counselor and wilderness trip leader. Linda and her husband, Marvin, also often bring their whole family to volunteer during Service Days. Their kids (Paul, Jacob, Bekah and Emma) also enjoy Beaver Camp as campers and, in the past few years, summer staff. Linda graduated from Goshen College with a degree in accounting. She enjoys reading, cooking, crafting and teaching her preschool Sunday School class at Lowville Mennonite Church. Her favorite color is pink.
Todd and Marcia Ortlieb
Todd and Marcia have been on our staff since 2004. Before coming to Beaver Camp, Todd served as a diesel mechanic in the Army and then worked for a paper mill; Marcia worked in day care before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Todd came to Beaver Camp several times growing up with his church. Marcia first visited in 1991 for a church service and baptism with Todd while on leave from his station in Germany. The two of them were here in the mid-90s for a couples’ retreat, and were woken up that Saturday morning by an earthquake! Todd accepted Christ in elementary school, but struggled in his walk throughout high school and young adulthood. In 1995 he rededicated his life to the Lord. Marcia grew up in the Catholic Church, and faithfully dedicated her life to the Lord along with Todd in 1995, when they were both baptized. Todd is an avid outdoorsman, loving the time he can spend hunting, fishing, ATVing, show shoeing and cross-country skiing. Marcia enjoys cooking, collecting recipes, photography and sewing.
